| When Saxquest approached eGM they had a problem. When
they originally built their site they did not expect it
to become the power house that it is today and developed
it to work with Microsoft Access database. As time went
on the popularity of the site began to grow and so did
its database which started to create multiple problems.
As a solution the approached eGM to convert their site
over from Access database over to SQL.
As we started the project we noticed at the start that
it was necessary to change the structure of the site
to be able to communicate with the new SQL database.
We noticed that all the true and false statements that
pertained to the database had to be changed over to
a simple 1 or 0, but with the massive amounts of include
files the creator used, made it tricky to find them
all.
After the SQL change over was complete Saxquest contracted
eGM to complete a section of the site that was started
at the creation of the site some years before, but was
left sitting and uncompleted due to unknown reasons.
There we restructured and organized a system that would
allow those with privileges to be able to set up a database
driven display page. This page displayed information
on vintage type saxophone or mouthpieces as well as
any type of historical documentation by simply typing
in the information and selecting the pictures the wanted
to be displayed.
